FILMS AT 50 CELEBRATION – OCTOBER 10-12
NOTE: Due to an unexpected licensing restriction we have had to replace the screening of Amadeus. The newly reissued version of the French classic thriller, Diva, will be shown instead.
In the mid-1970s a group of like-minded film-lovers came together with the aim of screening films in and around Presteigne. Starting with a 16mm projector and lots of enthusiasm Presteigne Film Society was born. It brought new movies to audiences in the area for 30 years, later becoming Presteigne Screen. We are celebrating this legacy by screening a weekend of films, old and new, marking half a century of community cinema, starting with the Coen Bros classic Fargo, then Francis Ford Coppola’s The Conversation, the newly reissued Amazon epic Aguirre, the Wrath of God, acclaimed animation Flow, and ending with a screening of the remastered stylish and exciting Diva.
We hope you will join us to watch the films and enjoy celebrating this popular local institution. See you there!
Full details for all the films are shown in the Current Events/ Until New Year page but, for convenience, quick advance booking links are included below.
